I want to help indies move to the next level in 2010! For a limited time as a favor to Nation on Business- I will share my 10 PLUS YEARS PROF EXP as a certified marketing prof & success on getting indie artists noticed. I will show you how 2 leverage ur success over ur competitors w/social networking sites, search engine placement results, keywords, words that work, get calls from majors. However I will make this info available only for a limited time because this is the same info I give to my paying clients. My email boxes r jammed packed w/ artists asking me for help. I would never have time to simply help on individual basis, because these techniques are so effective it has caused me to be tremendously busy. (A very good thing I might add). So I thought it was perfect when N.o.B. suggested that we collaborate & I share this info on their site. Starting November 2nd, I will be sharing info that if you use it exactly as I will direct u, without a doubt you will get noticed - I promise. U have to sign-up at http://ping.fm/5CGeS to have access. In the meantime, if u have any questions you'd like me to address regarding getting noticed by fans & the music industry on the internet, please email me at mel@cameronmusicgroup.com. We'll talk soon!

No really, how do you get your music out there?

The internet offers loads of info from every perspective imaginable on independent music and breaking into the business. Seminar and conferences are also big on the scene in educating artists. So let’s say you are an aspiring artist who has just heard about the next music seminar coming to your area. For about $50 bucks or more you get access to this event chock full of music industry moguls who are going to share with you the "secrets" of breaking into the music industry. Primarily every artists dream, right? To know the "secrets" that is. Okay and then on the day of the seminar– you find yourself standing in line with hundreds of other major label bound hopefuls hoping to find the best seat in the house. You take a seat and listen to the advice, (a lot of it common sense) perhaps position yourself in line with your question to the panel during the Q&A segment. Then pass your demo to Mr. Jones from Mega Industry Major Label during the meet and greet, and with your arm around Mr. Megashot (more accomplished than Mr. Music Big Shot) and a great big smile, you take some snap shots to post up on your Myspace to impress your visitors - But after it’s all over, and the adrenaline dies down and you realize that the chances of getting a call back from all those moguls you passed your CD out to is slim to none. Then what? Of course, I’m not at all against music seminars, I think they are great! But, what about the artist that really wants to put together a viable plan for success? A plan that includes generating income? I mean no, seriously for real?

The bottom line is that an artist has bargaining power with the major cats once they have put their work in and have an established market and track record of sales. You don't need Mr. Mogul to do that - And you can get a clue on that before you spend the big dollars for the seminars. I strongly believe in helping artists put together a plan to successfully market and sell music.

I am an advocate for independent music. People buy music and will always love good music. Independent music is real music. Its real expression untamed. It breathes and is living. There is so much beautiful music out there - so many un-chartered territories to visit. Imagined nations beautifully, lyrically, and harmonically landscaped. It’s like when you hear something new, different, rhythmic, it’s like visiting a brand new place and the song you’re left with is the souvenir. I don’t want to get carried away, but I guess you can tell I love indie music. I simply love supporting it and want to share good music with the world.

An for music enthusiasts, if you ever want to experience and buy good music, look to check out CMG’s Featured artists at http://www.cameronmusicgrouponline.com/ (In the near future, working on getting this page fly!)
